CES 2011

This year, the Consumer Electronics Show had some really impressive technology, but nothing too over-the-top impressive.  3D is still a ways out, ultra thin LED tvs were everywhere at last year’s CES, and tablets still don’t seem all that practical for the average consumer.

Audi e-tron R8

Audi had a really impressive booth, boasting one of the few places to sit.  Their lighting setup was as exquisite as the e-tron R8, possibly my new favorite car.  I rarely see flat black cars, usually expensive cars have a shiny-like-a-mirror paint job.  Audi really pulled off the flat black and carbon fiber with this one.  Check out those rims, they’re cleaner than a new pair of Nike’s.

Nvidia + Siera Nevada Kegputer

Computers + Beer = Linux;

Unless you’re Nvidia and Sierra Nevada.  Then it equals a gaming rig that gets you DRUNK!  Intense graphics, lights, flowing beer; this Kegputer has it all.  Now, where can I buy one …

Too many subs

What’s a trade show without a vehicle packed full of subs?  I don’t know, I’ve never been to one.  You know the car I’m talking about, the one where squeezing in 2 more subs is more important than a place for your friends to sit?  Check out that sweet five dollar bill on the door.  If the sound doesn’t make everyone in a 3 mile radius aware of your Baller $tatu$, Mr. Lincoln definitely will.

xi3

My show favorite was the Xi3 computer, a small embedded system that can keep up with my massive desktops.  This thing is perfect for a Home Theater PC.  Just plug it into your TV and go.

SPECK free beer

SPECK had by far the best booth at CES, giving away FREE BEER, and not keystone light, they had Bass and Sierra Nevada.  Cheers Speck!

I can’t end this post without giving shouts to Samsung for holding it down with the best looking, vibrant colored, brightest displays.
